Designing Object-Oriented
Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs)
(3 days)
Overview
This course will provide a GUI designer with an overview of how to create an effective human interface without
violating common platform and interface standards. It will cover the different widgets available for use, guidelines
for appropriate usage, and effective techniques for developing GUIs. The course will focus on all of the types
of applications typically built with Graphic User Interfaces rather than just on traditional "self contained
product" type applications. The course will also cover graphical design concerns, screen layout, and workflow
issues. Additionally, it provides a number of "bad" examples taken from real applications.
